About Vrishta
Vrishta belongs to the Kukkura house, one of the branches descending from Andhaka and Satvata. Andhaka’s son Bhajamana begins a separate line that later reaches Hridika and Shura. The Kukkura succession instead leads toward Ahuka’s household. These branches share older ancestors but have their own intervening generations.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
After Vrishta, the family continues through Kapotaroman, Viloman, Bhava, Abhijit and Punarvasu to Ahuka. Ahuka’s sons Devaka and Ugrasena are the fathers of Devaki and Kamsa. Vrishta therefore belongs to an earlier stage in the ancestry behind Krishna’s family setting.
Role
Vrishta is the son of Kukkura and the father of Kapotaroman in the Yadava genealogy. He belongs to Andhaka’s branch of Satvata’s descendants, in the line leading toward Ahuka and his sons Devaka and Ugrasena.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
Vrishta is the form used for Kukkura’s son in this account. Parallel genealogies use related name forms, including Vrishni, but this family position is separate from the earlier Vrishni ancestors identified through Kunti or Satvata.
