Original Suvarnaveda painted interpretationTHE LIVING ARCHIVE
Devaka’s household includes four sons—Devavat, Upadeva, Sudeva and Devarakshita—and seven daughters: Vrikadeva, Upadeva, Devarakshita, Shrideva, Shantideva, Sahadeva and Devaki. Similar names occur among the sons and daughters, but they identify separate people. Devaka belongs to Ahuka’s generation of the Kukkura branch; he is the father-in-law of Vasudeva, whose parents are Shura and Marisha.
