About Dridhashva
Dridhashva’s brothers Chandrashva and Kapilashva are the other survivors named in the same account. His father’s title Dhundhumara refers to Kuvalayashva’s destruction of Dhundhu and should not be treated as a second father.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
His survival has a direct genealogical consequence: it connects Kuvalayashva to the subsequent generations leading to Mandhata. The passage remembers Dridhashva principally as a surviving son and ancestor rather than as the slayer of Dhundhu.
Role
Dridhashva is one of the three sons of Kuvalayashva who survive the battle against Dhundhu. The continuing Ikshvaku succession is traced through him and his son Haryashva.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The defeat of Dhundhu belongs to Kuvalayashva. Survival in the same encounter does not establish a separate individual weapon, boon or martial feat for Dridhashva.
