About Shatajit
His family position is the point where one line divides into several named sons. The account subsequently follows Haihaya’s descendants in detail: Dharmanetra, Kunti and the later kings who lead toward Kritavirya. Shatajit is therefore an ancestor of that royal house, rather than another name for its celebrated thousand-armed ruler.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Shatajit’s three named sons help explain why a dynasty can contain several related houses. The chain continued through Haihaya is one selected line within a larger family, not a statement that Shatajit had only one child or that every later Yadava belonged to Haihaya’s household.
Role
Shatajit is the son of Sahasrajit and the father of Haihaya, Venu and Haya. He belongs to the early Yadava ancestry from which the Haihaya rulers are descended, several generations before Kartavirya Arjuna.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
This Shatajit is identified by Sahasrajit as his father. He is distinct from similarly named princes in later family lists and from Satrajit, the owner of the Syamantaka jewel.
