About Kunti
His grandfather Vidarbha is a son of Jyamagha and Shaivya. Kratha, Kunti’s father, is one of Vidarbha’s three sons, alongside Kaishika and Romapada. The succession continued through Kratha places this Kunti firmly within Kroshtu’s branch of Yadu’s descendants.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Kunti’s parentage helps distinguish families that otherwise share the broad name Yadava. The Haihaya Kunti descends through Dharmanetra, whereas this king descends through Kratha. Pritha/Kunti belongs to the much later family of Shura and Marisha and is a woman with her own Pandava story.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The three identities remain separate even when English transliteration renders the names alike. Kratha as father and Vrishni as son define the king followed here.
