THE LIVING ARCHIVE
About Sushanti
Nila is his grandfather. The family continues from Sushanti through Purujanu and Chakshu to Haryashva. Haryashva’s five sons belong to later generations, not to Sushanti’s own immediate household.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Sushanti belongs to the common ancestry of the later Panchala branches. Their shared descent helps explain why several royal and learned families are connected under the Panchala name.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The Bhagavata uses Sushanti in the same adjoining family setting but calls the next descendant Puruja. The Vishnu Purana gives Purujanu and then Chakshu, while the Bhagavata’s sequence uses Puruja and Arka before the father of the five Panchala sons.
