Original Suvarnaveda painted interpretationTHE LIVING ARCHIVE
Kritavarman and Shatadhanu are named beside Devamidhusha among Hridika’s sons. His grandfather is Svayambhoja, with Pratikshatra and Shamin among the older ancestors. His son Shura is the later bearer of that name, distinguished from Viduratha’s son by the intervening generations. Devamidhusha thus joins Hridika’s household to Shura and Marisha’s family, rather than being another name for one of those relatives.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Devamidhusha is the common ancestor behind Vasudeva and Pritha through their father Shura. His family position explains the connection between Krishna’s paternal family and the Pandavas’ maternal relatives.
TRADITION & MEANING
Devamidha and Devamidhusha are forms found in genealogical traditions. The surrounding succession can also vary between accounts. Those variants should be read as alternative tellings of ancestry, not combined into extra people in one continuous chain.
