About Jayasena
The Vishnu Purana’s English rendering gives his name as Jayasena Aravin and places Ayutayus next in the line. Sarvabhauma is his father and Viduratha his grandfather. This identifies the particular ancestor even though other royal families also use the name Jayasena.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Jayasena’s place connects Sarvabhauma’s household with Ayutayus and the following generations of Akrodhana’s family. The succession continues from this older ancestry toward Pratipa and Shantanu.
Role
Jayasena is a Kuru royal ancestor in the succession leading toward Pratipa. He follows Sarvabhauma in the family descending from Kuru’s son Jahnu.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The Bhagavata names Jayasena’s son Radhika and Radhika’s son Ayutayu. Its line therefore contains an additional named generation between Jayasena and Ayutayu compared with the Vishnu Purana’s wording. Both versions continue toward Akrodhana and the ancestors of Pratipa.
