About Ayutayus
In the Vishnu Purana, Jayasena is his father and Sarvabhauma his grandfather. Akrodhana is his son. Riksha and Dilipa appear after Akrodhana’s branch, bringing the succession closer to Pratipa and his three sons Devapi, Shantanu and Bahlika.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Ayutayus connects Akrodhana’s family with the older succession from Suratha, Viduratha and Sarvabhauma. The immediate household of Shantanu appears only after the later ancestors Riksha, Dilipa and Pratipa, establishing a generational distance between the two parts of the royal family.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
In the Vishnu Purana, Ayutayus follows Jayasena directly. The Bhagavata uses Ayutayu and places Radhika between Jayasena and this king. Both accounts continue from him to Akrodhana.
