About Manasyu
The Vishnu Purana names him as Pravira’s son and Bhayada’s father. Its line then proceeds through Sudyumna and Bahugava. This places Manasyu before the later generations associated with Raudrashva, Riteyu and Rantinara, rather than among the immediate ancestors of the Pandavas.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
Manasyu belongs to the royal beginnings of the wider Bharata family, many generations before the principal Mahabharata conflict. His place links Pravira to the later ancestry of Dushyanta rather than to the immediate household of Shantanu, Dhritarashtra or Pandu.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The Vishnu Purana continues Manasyu’s line through Bhayada. The Mahabharata instead names Sakta, Sahana and Vagmi as his sons by Sauviri. This difference concerns the actual arrangement of the family, not merely the spelling of one child’s name.
