About Devakshatra
The family before Devakshatra includes Karambhi, the early Yadava Shakuni, Dasharatha and Navaratha. Farther back, this succession descends from Kratha, one of Vidarbha’s sons. It is part of Kroshtu’s branch of Yadu’s family. The narrative moves from the earlier household story of Jyamagha and Shaivya into the ancestry of the later Satvata kings, and Devakshatra belongs to that intervening royal descent.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
His son is the royal Madhu whose descendants lead toward Satvata. Devakshatra is therefore part of the older ancestry shared by several later Yadava houses. The similarly named Devaka belongs much later in the Kukkura branch and is the father of Devaki; that is a different family position.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
Devakshatra and Devaka are separate royal names here. Krishna’s maternal grandfather is Devaka, Ahuka’s son, rather than this earlier ancestor.
