About Anavaratha
Anavaratha belongs to Kratha’s branch of the Yadava family. His grandfather Devakshatra and the ancestors before him connect this house to Vidarbha, the son of Jyamagha and Shaivya. The family is still followed as one line of descent at this stage. Its later division into the households of Satvata’s sons comes after Kuruvatsa, Anuratha, Puruhotra and Anshu.

ROLE & ESSENCE
Attributes & Significance
The generations after Anavaratha lead to Satvata and the princes called Satvatas. Andhaka and Vrishni belong to that later branching household. Their shared ancestry is older than their separate clan names, so the Satvata houses remain part of the broader Yadava family.
TRADITION & MEANING
Traditions & Interpretations
The descent described here follows the Vishnu Purana’s sequence. Other traditions give variant forms of the ancestry between Madhu and Satvata; those are alternative family accounts rather than extra generations added to this one.
